2020 Ford Explorer Review, Specs, & More
Forever it seems like when you think of Ford, iconic names like Mustang, Falcon, Galaxy, Thunderbird, or the legendary F-series come to mind. Now, a new name should be added to the list, the 2020 Ford Explorer. When Ford decided to redesign the Ford Explorer, many consumers didn’t think much of it. But they were soon shocked to see the many features that the Explorer now has. Ford took the family ride we all grew up around and turned it into a work of art, making it sure to be one of the most sought-after SUVs on the market.
The 18-in five-spoke sparkle silver-painted aluminum wheels set nicely with the body lines of the new Explorer. The exterior looks a lot more refined than the previous generation, thanks to the chrome body side cladding accent that helps to bring out the body-coloured door handles, liftgate spoiler and chrome applique. The higher stance of the Explorer gives it a minimum running ground clearance to ensure that the vehicle is ready to go on any off-road adventure.
The interior of the 2020 Ford Explorer infuses comfort with practicality. The sleek design of the unique cloth seats matches seamlessly with the curves and lines of the dashboard that run down through the front and into the second-row console. The rear cargo area is spacious. And thanks to the rear fold-down seats, the rear cargo area can become even bigger with a simple pull of a lever.
The Explorer comes standard with a 6.5-inch colour touchscreen infotainment display that comes equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Explorer also uses the latest technology to help make your driving experience more convenient and safer. Some of these standard high-tech features include a Lane Assist system that includes Driver Alert and Lane Alert. A reverse camera comes standard on all models as well as a side wind stabilizing system that helps drivers maintain control in unexpected high winds.
Ford thought of everything when it comes to the 2020 Explorer by offing up to 3 different engines to choose from. The 2.3L Eco Boost turbocharged I-4 delivers an impressive 300 horsepower and is able to tow up to 2,404kg. The available 3.0L EcoBoost turbocharged V6 produces an amazing 400 horsepower and is able to tow up to 2,540kgt. Lastly, The Explorer also offers a 3.3L hybrid V6. This fuel-efficient engine is able to deliver 318 horsepower and tow up to 2,268 kg. All of these engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic SelectShift transmission. The Ford Explorer also comes equipped with an intelligent 4-wheel drive.
